This beautiful documentary about San Bernardino, CA, was released by the L.A. Times weeks before the recent shootings. It’s an intimate portrayal of an economically depressed place through the voices, and images of the people who are struggling there, and those who are working to help turn it around.
Watch it for context, watch it for the exquisite use of details, watch it for excellent pacing in the editing, or just watch it because it’s beautiful. Filmed by the fabulous Liz O. Baylen, and edited by Liz O. Baylen, and rockstar UNC j-school alum, Spencer Bakalar.
It’s 30 minutes, so set aside a little time.
