Pairing visuals with a podcast

We had the great privilege to consult with The New York Times and Serial Productions on, “The Coldest Case in Laramie.” They asked us to develop a concept for incorporating a visual element of the season for the new NYTAudio youtube page.

The goal was to create a visual element using segments of the audio story and some existing visual assets (photos and videos).

After listening to the full season and reviewing all of the available visual assets, we identified key segments that paired well with the archival stills and video. We then used these to develop a subtle visual style that maintains focus on the audio while allowing the viewers’ imagination to wander. Our recommended concepts were published on their youtube shorts channel.
