17 brave souls joined us for a week-long intensive video storytelling workshop last week. The workshop is part of the University of North Carolina’s annual “Multimedia Bootcamp” week. We cram a lot into this week, spending the first day or so discussing the foundations of powerful storytelling, becoming familiar with basic video and audio techniques, and practicing and preparing for the stories that will be produced that week. Students spend about two days filming and then bring everything back to the editing suite and get down to business editing their stories as they learn how to use Premiere.
This year we had a great mix of communications professionals, academics, and veteran journalists looking to add to their storytelling skill set. Hats off to all of them for sticking with us, and producing some great work! To see some of their finished videos visit this year’s story gallery.
