Elena explains the workings of the 5d mark II
McKenzie, a sophomore at Carolina Friends School, shadowed us today. She chose to do her “End of Year Experience” internship on documentary storytelling. She’ll be spending time at The Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University and with documentary photographers and filmmakers in the area for the next two weeks.
After patiently sitting through the wonders of file organization and proposal submissions, she tried her hand at a little shooting and editing.
McKenzie edits her video and looks through interview transcripts. Catherine drinks tea.
Unfortunately we didn’t have any shoots scheduled today, but Elena generously volunteered to be a faux-documentary subject swinging in Catherine’s yard so McKenzie could practice shooting in sequences (wide, medium, tight).
